I am an independent coppice worker based at Westonbirt Arboretum. I started learning the trade in 2004 under the supervision of Brian Williamson, Westonbirt’s Lead Coppicer. At first I cut hazel rods by hand using a pruning saw and billhook. I have now qualified to cut with a chain saw which certainly speeds things up! I have been teaching chair making since 2014.
